What is CE Marking?

CE Mark is defined as the European Union’s (EU) mandatory conformity marking for regulating the goods sold within the European Economic Area (EEA) since 1985. The CE marking represents a manufacturer’s declaration that products comply with the EU’s New Approach Directives.

The letters “CE” are the abbreviation of French phrase “Conformité Européene” which literally means “European Conformity”. The term initially used was “EC Mark” and it was officially replaced by “CE Marking” in the Directive 93/68/EEC in 1993. “CE Marking” is now used in all EU official documents.

Why is CE certification required for My Boat?

CE Certification is required for all recreational boats entering or being sold in the European Union. Manufacturers must test and document to ensure conformity to all applicable European directives and requirements.  Since 15 June 1996 CE certification has been mandatory in Europe on recreational craft with a length of 2.5 to 24 metres. This means that boat builders, shipyards and importers of pleasure boats are only obliged to sell boats with a CE certification.

CE Certificate, allows your boat trip to circulate freely in Europe and Turkey. We can convert a boat without CE certification to an unlicensed car. If products are placed on the market without CE marking, if detected, the relevant ministry may be subject to penalties up to administrative sanctions, recalling the products from the market or stopping production.
